Memorial For Ann Reesman
Artist, Veteran
Friday, December 14
Noon-4pm, Room 210
Veterans Building
401 Van Ness Ave.

Our friend Ann Reeseman passed away suddenly on November 28 in San Francisco. Join us in a celebration and tribute to her life on Friday, 12/14 from noon – 4pm. Everyone is invited.

Ann spent four years in the Air Force, before returning to California. With the support of her family, she was able to earn a BFA from California State University, Chico. But being an artist was not a sure way to earn enough to raise five children. So she decided to get a “real job” and trained to be an Operating Room Tech. She was truly amazed at everything she learned from the dedicated Doctors, Nurses Tech’s and CNA’s.

Ann wound up leaving that life after some years and eventually moved to San Francisco where she became very active in the Veteran Artist community. She held workshops and hosting exhibits in San Francisco’s Veterans Building and at the Veterans Community Media Center. She was an active member of AmVets Chapter 34, and volunteered at ArtSeed Children’s programs, where she greatly enjoyed teaching the next generation of artists.

Ann was an outsize personality in small and enthusiastic package that taught us all the value of Art and Life.  She will be missed by many for her her dedication to her Art, her students and her fellow Veteran Artists.
