Join Veterans For Peace and friends for a screening of Making Waves: Rebirth of the Golden Rule followed by updates and discussions on the Rule’s upcoming Peace In The Pacific Voyage and nuclear issues today. Speakers: National President of Veterans For Peace Gerry Condon, Organizer and Crew Member Helen Jaccard, Mary Sweeter with Greenpeace. Hors d’oeuvres, refreshments. Donations accepted, no one turned away.
History Veterans For Peace recovered and restored the original peace ship, the Golden Rule, that set sail in 1958 to stop nuclear testing in the atmosphere. This small boat inspired many peace makers and peace ships that followed.
The Golden Rule crew and volunteers continue to spread the word on dangers of nuclear power and will sail from California to return to Hawaii and on to the Marshall Islands, Guam, Okinawa, Korea and Japan.
Donate Please spread the word about the Fundraiser — help the original nuclear protest boat and support her mission to abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
