Wreaths Across America and its mission to Remember the Fallen, Honor those who Serve, and Teach the next generation about the value of Freedom. At the San Francisco National Cemetery, a dedicated cadre of committed volunteers, organizations and sponsors has worked hard over recent years to establish a substantial WAA effort. In 2019 (before the pandemic) it reached a high point of over 1,500 wreaths and organized a moving ceremony—one that brought hundreds of Bay Area citizens together in support of our veterans and gained favorable attention for its professionalism and positive impact on the area.
This year’s ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m. on December 18th at the Presidio of San Francisco. We have a great lineup of speakers and participants, which includes the Commander of US Coast Guard District 11 (Alameda) Rear Admiral Brian Penoyer; 11-time Grammy Award winner Tony Lindsay, and SF District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani.
